T-Mobile 2022 Data Breach

Case Overview

Keller Rohrback L.L.P. partner Cari Campen Laufenberg was appointed to serve as Co-Lead Counsel in this litigation involving a data breach announced by T-Mobile on January 19, 2023. The breach began November 25, 2022 and T-Mobile failed to detect the unauthorized activity until six weeks later on January 5, 2023. Upon investigation, T-Mobile learned that a subset of the personally identifiable information (PII) data in its possession had been accessed by unauthorized individuals and the compromised data contained names, billing addresses, emails, phone numbers, dates of birth, account numbers, and information such as the number of lines on the account and service plan features of current customers. T-Mobile has admitted this breach compromised highly sensitive personal information of approximately 37 million current postpaid and prepaid customer accounts.

On June 2, 2023, our action and other related actions were consolidated in the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri and are proceeding before The Honorable Brian C. Wimes. On March 8, 2024, Plaintiffs filed a Consolidated Class Action Complaint.
