Xcel Energy agrees to $640M Marshall Fire settlement

Sub Title
marshall fire settlement

Keller Rohrback is pleased to announce that we have reached a settlement on behalf of our clients in the lawsuit against Xcel Energy and other defendants related to the devastating 2021 Marshall Fire in Colorado. This settlement is part of a $640 million agreement with Xcel Energy resolving claims from numerous plaintiffs, insurance companies, and public entities affected by the fire.

"After years of Xcel denying any responsibility for the Marshall fire, we’re very happy to agree to this negotiated outcome that provides real relief for fire survivors and holds Xcel accountable," said Keller Rohrback partner Matthew Preusch, who also serves as one of the court-appointed Liaison Counsel for the plaintiffs.

The settlement will provide compensation to individuals and families who suffered losses in the fire. Keller Rohrback is proud to have played a role in securing this important resolution for its clients.
