Keller Rohrback L.L.P. Attorney Receives Washington Public Affairs Network Founders Award

Benson Wong, a business attorney at Keller Rohrback L.L.P., received the Founders Award from the Washington Public Affairs Network (TVW) on Monday, Feb. 27 at the annual TVW Gala event.

“I was honored and humbled to receive the 2012 Founders Award from TVW earlier this year.” said Wong. “I fervently believe that enhancing the public's access to its government creates a more informed and engaged citizenry from which we all benefit.”

The Founders Award is given annually to someone who demonstrates visionary leadership and is committed to increasing the public’s access to state government.  Past recipients include Senator Jeannette Hayner, Hunter Simpson, The Honorable Booth Gardner, The Honorable Ralph Munro, The Honorable Della Newman, Joyce Turner, Cindy Zehnder and Pat Dunn.

Wong spoke briefly about TVW’s purpose. He said, “TVW's core mission is to provide the public with "gavel-to-gavel" coverage of the state's legislative proceedings in Olympia.  TVW also gives the public the opportunity to listen to arguments before the State Supreme Court.”

Wong was a member of the TVW Board from 1997 to 2011 and chair from 2000 to 2004. Wong has been in practice since 1979. His practice focuses on business and real estate matters and transactions. He has considerable experience in forming business entities and in advising businesses on operational and personnel issues.
