Keller Rohrback is investigating whether Chevrolet, Cadillac, and GMC models from 2015-2019 have faulty eight-speed transmissions. Vehicle owners have stated that defective eight-speed transmissions can cause their cars and trucks to jolt or hesitate, sometimes to the degree that the drivers feel like they’ve been hit by another car.
Many vehicle owners have taken their cars in to have their transmissions serviced, but service has not fixed the issues. Because the issues are not repaired, the cars have developed further problems, leading to mounting costs and frustrations for the owners. General Motors is aware of these issues and has issued thirteen technical service bulletins on the topic, but to no avail.
These transmission problems have been found in both the GM 8L90 and 8L45 eight-speed transmissions and across several GM makes and models. The affected vehicles are as follows:
