Case Overview
Keller Rohrback filed a proposed class action on behalf of Dr. Dorender Gray and Dr. Temi Ogunleye against the Washington Physicians Health Program, a nonprofit organization that evaluates and monitors physicians, medical trainees, and other healthcare professionals. The complaint alleges that WPHP has abandoned its stated mission of helping healthcare professionals recover and safely return to practice and instead operates through unfair, deceptive, and coercive practices that harm participants’ careers, finances, and well-being.
The complaint details the experiences of Dr. Ogunleye and Dr. Gray, both former University of Washington medical residents. Plaintiffs allege, among other things, that WPHP relied on flawed evaluations containing significant errors, delayed or prevented their return to clinical practice, and caused substantial professional, financial, and emotional harm.
The proposed class encompasses all WPHP participants from 2015 to the present. Plaintiffs assert claims under the Washington Consumer Protection Act, as well as claims for tortious interference with a business expectancy, and outrage.
