Keller Rohrback is pleased to the share the news that on April 9, 2024, Judge Josephine Staton of the United States District Court for the Central District of California granted Final Approval of the Class Action Settlement in the In re: Hyundai and Kia Engine Litigation II case.
The settlement provides several categories of relief, including a 15 year/150,000 mile extended warranty covering inspection and repair costs related to the defect, reimbursement for qualifying out-of-pocket repair costs, goodwill payments of up to $150, reimbursements for transportation, towing, and travel expenses for class members stranded away from home by certain qualifying engine failures or fires, and a rebate program toward the purchase of a replacement Hyundai or Kia vehicle for qualifying class members.
