On January 5, 2015, the Settlement Administrator mailed the Legal Notice of Class Action Settlement and Class Action Claim Form to the Settlement Class Members. On April 27, 2015, the Court entered the Final Judgment and Order of Dismissal that gave final approval to the settlement and the distribution to the class members has been completed.
In this certified class action, Plaintiffs allege that Defendant eAppraiseIT, LLC, entered into an unlawful agreement with now-defunct Washington Mutual Bank in violation of the Real Estate Settlement Procedure Act. Specifically, Plaintiffs allege that around June 2006, Defendant and Washington Mutual Bank entered into an illegal referral scheme whereby Defendant agreed to inflate home appraisals for the Bank in exchange for the referral of appraisal business.
